Position details

Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy by verifying all inbound and outbound orders. Perform an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. Utilizes the inventory management system to compile and maintain records of quantity, type, and value of the product stocked

Duties and responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory records.
  • Perform daily inventory management procedures and duties.
  • Physically pull and process seed orders and adjust records in inventory management system.
  • Follow procedures to accurately adjust inventory for over/short, defective, and damaged product.
  • Perform routine clerical assignments including filing invoices and maintaining records.

Position Dimensions and Qualifications

Educational Level and Focus:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Six months warehousing and inventory experience, preferred
  • Forklift operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days of employment, preferred
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good time management skills.

    • Ability to articulate and share information with management and team members by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
    • Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, and identifying the best people for the job. Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
    • Ability to act professionally in holding others accountable to agreed upon responsibilities and tasks.
    • Adept at time management of self and others.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (: Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook and Powerpoint) and plant breeding database applications.
    • Highly skilled at observation, phenotyping and optimizing abiotic and biotic selection pressure, showing ability to adopt cellular and molecular tools to improve selection efficiency, heterosis and quality control.
    • Adept at focusing attention to detail.
    • Ability to balance goals within logistical and budgetary guidelines.
    • Analytical mind to recognize and understand available genotyping and phenotyping technology to use in development of new products.
