Position details

Responsible for the coordination of the packaging process, ensuring the accuracy of all information and orders are being completed according to process assignments and work orders.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned staff and designate daily tasks.
  • Carry out the Plant Managers plan and notify of any deviations or issues.
  • Verify the accuracy of all information before packing is correct along with counts, weights, and packing material type.
  • Verify seed counts are accurate before packing.
  • Become familiar with and understand all packing machinery including setup, calibration and utilization. (ActionPak, Data Counter, Ball).
  • Lead the packing of orders in appropriate boxes per order and label accordingly.
  • Understanding and utilizing inventory software.
    o Processing PA’s
    o Picking of orders in the system
    o Packing orders in the system
  • Ability to use UPS World Ship to ship orders and samples as requested as needed.
  • Maintain a monthly inventory of packaging materials.
  • Maintain an organized file system for all orders that have been shipped keeping all documents, labels and pertinent information together for future reference.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Educational Level and Focus:

High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role.

Skills and Abilities:

    • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them at all times.
    • Ability to remain proactive throughout work day.
    • Bilingual in Spanish, is a plus.
    • Ability to convert weights and use basic math.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Must have attention to detail and well organized.
    • Also must be able to problem shoot and fix machinery as necessary within limitations.
